About Us

Seldon Bofinger & Associates, P.C., is a Washington, D.C.–based, highly experienced law firm dedicated to protecting our clients’ civil rights and civil liberties. The firm represents clients in complex matters involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, denial of Reasonable Accommodation, whistleblower reprisal, disability rights, wage theft, and other violations of federal and local law.

We pride ourselves on our experience and track records in many forums, and we pride ourselves on building strong partnerships with all our clients. Together, we do everything in our power to pursue justice and secure satisfying, lasting outcomes.

Founded by Bob Seldon, the firm draws on extensive experience in litigation, investigations, settlements, and mediation, in cases against the government, private entities, nonprofits, and public utilities, always on the side of the individual. Bob previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney in D.C., led litigation departments in private practice and for a nationally known nonprofit, and started a nonprofit to represent whistleblowers, particularly those targeted in DOE military and commercial nuclear installations. At Seldon Bofinger, Bob shapes the firm’s strategic and results-driven approach to civil rights enforcement.

The firm is co-led by Charlene Bofinger, whose background includes senior leadership at a Fortune 500 technology company. Charlene has more than 25 years of experience in corporate, commercial, and employment law, as well as in related fields. Her work strengthens the firm’s ability to navigate both legal and organizational complexities, particularly in employment and administrative proceedings and mediations. Charlene’s has an enviable record of success, particularly in obtaining Reasonable Accommodations for our clients and preventing arbitrary withdrawal of approved Reasonable Accommodations.

Seldon Bofinger has built a reputation for achieving success and reaching meaningful results for clients, including significant recoveries in federal courts, administrative forums, settlements, and mediations. The firm is committed to holding employers, institutions, government entities, and public utilities accountable for violating our clients’ rights, while providing personalized, top-quality representation to individuals facing powerful adversaries, and we are known for fighting vigorously for our clients

At its core, Seldon Bofinger combines deep legal expertise with a mission-driven focus: advancing justice, protecting our clients’ civil rights and liberties, and ensuring that strong partnerships with our clients mean that every client’s voice is heard.
